About Me
Camilo garcia
razor Sidemount Full Cave Instructor and TDI Instructor Trainer
Camilo GarcÃa
I began my diving journey in 2003 in Calgary, Canada, where I took my first breaths underwater while working toward my PADI Open Water certification. What started as a personal curiosity quickly evolved into a lifelong passion and professional calling.
Drawn by the vibrant marine life and crystal-clear waters of the Mexican Caribbean, I relocated to Playa del Carmen to pursue my professional diving career. After becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor, I joined Dressel Divers and soon discovered the extraordinary world of the cenotes. This revelation marked the beginning of my journey into overhead environments.
In 2009, I guided my first cenote cavern dives at Dos Ojos Dive Shop, introducing certified divers to the magic of Mexico's UnderGround river systems. Eager to deepen my technical knowledge, I became a PADI Tec Deep and Trimix Instructor at Utila Dive Center in 2011.
The following year, I founded Divers UnderGround, a dive center specializing in advanced training for sidemount and cave diving. By 2015, I had achieved TDI Instructor ratings in Full Cave Diver, Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures, Extended Range, and Trimix.
In 2016, Divers UnderGround was recognized as a TDI Five-Star Instructor Development Facility, reflecting our commitment to excellence in technical and cave diving education.
Today, I am proud to be a TDI Instructor Trainer and Razor Sidemount Full Cave Instructor, dedicated to sharing the art of sidemount configuration and cave diving with divers from around the world. I conduct training in both English and Spanish, and my approach emphasizes precision, safety, and mentorship.
Through every course, my goal is to help divers develop mastery, confidence, and a profound respect for the cave environment, ensuring they not only meet the highest standards but also carry forward the spirit of exploration.
