Description
Technical Diving in Ireland
We are proudly a full TDI dive centre, ANDI facility, Apeks Technical Centre and JJ-CCR Service Centre and Dealer covering all Ireland and many worldwide locations for gas supplies, equipment supplies and rentals and high quality training in Open Circuit, Sidemount, CCR and overhead environment diving. We are also an Apeks Technical Centre and a factory approved JJ-CCR service centre and dealer. We work with clubs, recreational dive centres and individuals to complement the existing dive services provision in Ireland.
We are not agency snobs having dived extensively with divers from many agencies it’s our opinion that the instructor you had, your attitude and your experience matter more than whose badge you wear. We are GUE / DIR / friendly, we welcome CMAS / BSAC / PADI / TDI / ANDI / IANTD etc.
People:
Matt Jevon – Matt is an avid cave and wreck diver, holding full cave, full trimix (OC and CCR) and has been involved in wreck and cave exploration. He is a technical and cave instructor on Open and Closed Circuit (CCR) with TDI and ANDI to exploration level no limits mixed gas diving. Matt is a JJ-CCR instructor and dealer as well as service technician. Matt has been privileged to be trained by and to have worked with some of the worlds leading tech divers and instructors.
Greg Jagielski – Greg is an advanced gas blender, boat cox, full cave, normoxic trimix, sidemount and CCR diver. Greg is also an asset trained technician and can service tanks, regs and equipment to O2 standards. He also supports the logistical and gas blending services and is chief safety diver.
Technical Diving Training
We offer tech diver training from intro to tech through to full hypoxic mixed gas decompression diving on open and closed circuit. We can also offer training in overhead environments from wreck to cavern and cave. We train here in Ireland but also in Malta/Gozo, Lanzarote, Croatia, Egypt and France.
There has been an explosion in interest in technical diving in Ireland with many experienced divers taking the first steps. However, building experience in cold waters, arranging gases and being sure of dive plans are sometimes challenging steps for new tech divers. We can remove that stress and provide anything from a full guide and gas service, through to tips and pointers on the best sites in any conditions. In addition many new tech divers have chosen to train in warm waters such as The Red Sea or Mediterranean. We offer a safe and progressive route to ‘convert’ to cold water tec.
Check out www.swt.ie for courses from Technical DPV (Scooters) to Advanced Gas Blending Training, Solo to Sidemount, CCR to full mixed gas exploration level diving.
Mixed Gas, Bailout, CCR and Deco gas fills and tank rental. Sofnolime supplies
If you want higher O2 mixes for deco gases, rebreather cylinders filled or trimix, we can fill these within 24 hours, or overnight at weekends by prior arrangement with drop off and pick up points in Cork City, Bandon, Clonakilty and Kinsale.
Planning, Logistical Support and Advice
If you or your club want to do your own thing, that’s cool. You might like to offload all the planning and gas logistics to us though. We can do everything from accommodation to launch and recovery points, moorings if needed, gases, cylinders etc.
Ancillary Services
We can offer accommodation, travel advice, restaurant advice and will take the extraordinary step of personally showing you some awesome bars. Rest assured the diving will be brilliant, but the craic will also be mighty! Advice on travel, transfers or car rental also available.
A note on the weather…..
This is of course beyond our control. Depending on the actual conditions we have a number of fall back plans, alternate sites, but recognize that sometimes you just can’t get out. We will offer alternate activities as you would find useful, eg kit workshops, dive planning sessions, deco theory discussions. We can also offer local tours, museum visits, quad biking etc.
